Parish Walk 2022 - Saturday 18 June

Due to the Parish walk event a number of bus services are diverted as shown below.

Closure of A1 between Union Mills and Crosby
The road is closed from Union Mills to Crosby between 0820 and 1030.
The 0807, 0907, 0937, 0947 & 1007 Service 5/6 departures from Douglas (Lord Street) are permitted to travel between Union Mills and Crosby but expect delays.


To avoid the period of maximum congestion, the 0837 Service 6 departure from Douglas (Lord Street) diverts from Quarterbridge via Spring Valley, Cooil Road, Braaid and Foxdale to St. Johns.


The 0852 & 0932 Service 6/6C departures from Peel divert from St. Johns (Station Road) via Foxdale, Cooil and Quarter Bridge to Peel Road.
The 0952 Service 5 departures from Peel is permitted to travel between Crosby and Union Mills but are subject to delay.


One-way between Mount Gawne Road and Ballakillowey roundabout

A one-way system is in operation between Mount Gawne Road and Ballakillowey Roundabout between 1100 and 1430.
Due to this one-way system and the number of walkers’ support vehicles on this section of road the following Services 1 and 11 divert from Bay View via Ballafesson Road, New Castletown Road and Shore Road to Castletown.
Service 11: 1045 1145 1245 & 1345
Service 1: 1125 1225 1325 & 1425


Closure of Derby Road in Peel
Derby Road in Peel is closed between the Albany Road junction and Athol Place from 1230 to 1830 which results in buses being unable to serve the Peel Town Hall bus stop.

Buses for Douglas (Services 5, 5C, 6) depart the Albany Road garage stop at 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.

Service 5, 5C, 6 & 6C journeys arriving in Peel serve the House of Manannan and Promenade as normal.
Buses for Ramsey then proceed to the Shoprite stop on Derby Road - departing the Shoprite stop 1 minute after the time scheduled for the Town Hall stop.
Service 5 journeys that terminate in Peel then return to Douglas from Albany Road as shown above.
Service 6 journeys then proceed to Ballawattleworth.

Peel to Kirk Michael Coast Road
A one-way system is in operation on the Peel to Kirk Michael coast road between 1330 and 1900.
Due to this one-way system and the number of walkers’ support vehicles on this section of road the Service 5 bus diverts via Poortown Road, Cronk-y-Voddy and Kirk Michael to Derby Road in Peel (& vice versa) and therefore does not serve Oak Road - instead serving the stops on Poortown Road beside the Highwayman.

Departing Peel (Shoprite): 1451, 1646, 1746, 1846 and 1946
Departing Kirk Michael: 1433, 1533 and 1633, 1753, 1853 and 1953

 

Service 3, 3A and N3 - Minorca to Dhoon Glen
The Douglas departures at 2110, 2210, 2315 and 0015 divert from Minorca via Ballaragh to Dhoon Glen.
