Viking Longboat Races - Saturday 20 July 2024

On this day parts of East Quay and Peel Promenade are closed for most of the day.
On arrival in Peel from Douglas all Service 5, 5c & 6 journeys operate directly via Albany Road to the Peel Town Hall stop.
Service 5/5c journeys to Ramsey then depart the Town Hall stop at the scheduled time.
Service 6 journeys to Ballawattleworth then depart the Town Hall stop at 11 minutes past each hour via Christian Street and Peveril Road to Reayrt Aalin.


If the event is cancelled then buses operate as timetabled.

Please note there are various road closure for up to three hours around the Island during July - Buses are allowed access under supervision of the contractor conducting the works.

Anagh Coar Highway Resurfacing


Expected from Wednesday 24 July 2024 a section of Cushag Road and Anagh Coar Road between the Stevenson Way and Bayr Cam junctions is to be closed for up to 6 weeks.
During the period of closure buses are unable to serve the Darragh, Anagh Coar Close, Tramman Park, The Link and The Walk bus stops in Anagh Coar.
Alternative stops are on New Castletown Road, Stevenson Way and Annacur lane.
Service 21/21b/21h diversions
All journeys operate as timetabled via the IOM Business Park/Nobles Hospital/Meadow Crescent roundabout to the Hill Top View bus shelter in Stevenson Way and then divert via Annacur Lane to New Castletown Road with additional temporary stops in Stevenson Way and Annacur Lane.

 

Closure of Queen Street in Castletown

Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 July 2024

To facilitate highway repairs, Queen Street and part of The Parade in Castletown are to be closed from 0900 up until 1530 on Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 July 2024.
Therefore all buses on Services 1, 1h, 2, 11a, 12a & 14 DO NOT serve the bus stops located in Victoria Road,
Castletown Square and Farrants Way after the 0855 Service 11a to Douglas & 0845 Service 12a to Port Erin and until the 1545 Service 12a to Port Erin & 1535 Service 1h to Douglas
During this period buses to & from Douglas, and Port Erin operate between Fayles Corner and the Castle Rushen High School bus turning area via Alexandra Road, the By Pass and Red Gap, departing the School at the time scheduled for Castletown Square.
If notification is received on any day that the works have been completed early then buses resume the normal timetabled route as soon as is possible

Closures and temporary one-way system in Onchan

Due to resurfacing works on the Corkills roundabout section of Governors Road, Onchan there is a one way system Northbound towards Ramsey, relevant diversions to bus services are as follows:

 

Service 3 & 3a journeys to Ramsey divert from Governors Road, via Bemahague Road, Sign Post Corner, Hillberry Road and Avondale Road to Main Road Onchan

Service 3 & 3a journeys to Douglas divert from Main Road Onchan via Avondale Road, Hillberry Road, Sign Post Corner and Bemahague Road to Governors Road.

 

Diversions from Douglas 

Service 3, 3a, 25, 25b &25h journeys from Douglas, Lord Street operate as per normal route.

Service 3, 3a journeys from Ramsey continue to divert from Main Road, Onchan via Avondale Road, Sign Post Corner and Bemahague Road to Governors Road.

Service 22 & 22h journeys divert from Birch Hill Crescent via Hillberry Road, Sign Post Corner & Bemahague Road to Governors Road.

Service 15 journeys do not serve Blackberry Lane or Summer Hill during the entire period of works.

Service 37 The morning journey diverts from Royal Avenue via Avondale Road, Signpost Corner and Bemahague Road to Governors Bridge and Victoria Road therefore not serving the Queens Road or Wybourne Drive stops.  The alternative stop is on Avondale Road  opposite the Village Walk.

The afternoon journey is unable to serve Royal Avenue.   Alternative stops for Royal Avenue are either at the Manx Arms, Sunningdale Drive or Port Jack.

Service 42 The morning journey operates as normal up to Bemahague School then via Signpost Corner and Bemahague Road to Glencrutchery Road and St Ninians therefore not serving the Queens Road or Wybourne Drive stops.  While the diversion is in place this journey picks up on Avondale Road (opposite Village Walk) and on Hillberry Road.

 

At 0700 on Sunday 21 July until no later than 2300 Corkills roundabout is to be closed to complete the remaining works.

During this time buses diversions are as follows.

Service 3 & 3a journeys to Ramsey divert from Governors Road, via Bemahague Road, Sign Post Corner, Hillberry Road and Avondale Road to Main Road Onchan

Service 3 & 3a journeys to Douglas divert from Main Road Onchan via Avondale Road, Hillberry Road, Sign Post Corner and Bemahague Road to Governors Road.
