Tynwald Day Bus Services - Monday 7 July 2025

 

On Tynwald Day the Public Holiday bus service operates. 

Buses to serve the National Festivities at St Johns (including extra journeys) operate as shown below

From Douglas to St Johns and Peel - Services 5, 5a, 6, 6a

Buses depart Douglas (Lord Street) to St Johns and Peel at:

0637, 0720, 0807, 0837, 0907, 0922, 0937**, 0952**, 1007, 1022, 1037, 1052, 1107, 1137,  1207**, 1237**, 1307, 1337, 1407, 1437, 1507, 1537, 1607, 1637, 1707, 1737, 1807, 1907, 2007, 2107, 2207, 2225++ & 2307        

** from Ballacraine via Ballig Bridge and Poortown Road due to St Johns Station Road closures from 1000 to 1030 and 1230 to 1330 - nearest stop to St Johns is Ballacraine.
++ extra Tynwald Fest bus departing from the Tynwald Inn shelter to Peel at 2250

 

From Peel to St Johns and Douglas - Services 5, 5a, 6, 6a

Buses depart Peel (Town Hall stop) to St Johns and Douglas at:

** via Poortown Road and Ballig Bridge to Ballacraine due to St Johns Station Road closures from 1000 to 1030 and 1230 to 1330 - nearest stop to St Johns is Ballacraine.

Additional buses also operate between Douglas - St Johns - Peel and vice versa during the afternoon as required.

 

From Ramsey to Peel and St Johns - Services 5a, 6 & 6a

Buses depart Ramsey to Peel and St Johns at: 0710, 0910, 0940, 1110, 1310, 1510, 1710, 1935, 2020, 2059 & 2250.

 

From St Johns to Ramsey (via Peel) - Services 5 & 6a

Buses depart St Johns (via Peel) to Ramsey at: 0751, 0936, 1136, 1336, 1536, 1636, 1736, 1836, 1936, 2138 & 2331.

 

Service 8 - Port Erin via Castletown to St Johns & Peel  

An extra return journey from Port St Mary and Port Erin to St Johns via Castletown operates:

Due to the road closures in St Johns please note that the last departures to serve the Tynwald Inn stop before the Ceremony starts are the 0922 departure from Douglas, Lord Street and the 1005 departure from Peel Town Hall. 

During the road closures diversions via The Hope or Poortown Road apply.

All extra journeys between Douglas and Peel operate as Service 5a (diverting via The Hope or Poortown Road due to road closures) and therefore do not serve Nobles Hospital or Strang.

Service 18k: 0745 Ramsey - Bride - Andreas - Jurby - Ramsey

Service 21: 2305 Douglas (Lord Street A) to Pulrose, Anagh Coar and Farmhill
